Bullcooks/Second Cooks Schedule varies per location: 4 weeks on 2 weeks off/3 weeks on 3 weeks off.  Assists the cook/baker or head cook with meal preparation for field workers residing at camp,  Primary duties include preparation of a variety of salads, setting up and taking down the salad bar, serving other foods, making sandwiches for the break room, cutting vegetables for use in meals, rotating condiment containers, maintaining the pantry, making coffee and keeping it replenished for both the dining room and break room, monitoring and replenishing supplies in both of these areas, doing dishes, sweeping and mopping the dining room, break room, mud room, downstairs bathroom, and hall entryway, and vacuuming safety rugs in the mud room.  Make appropriate entries in daily logbook.  One-year experience in making salads and other types of food preparation, plus ongoing on-the-job training under the direction of the head cook is needed.  A knowledge of the characteristics of different fruits and vegetables of the effects of different temperature levels on different foods, and good sanitation practices also are required.  Basic people skills also are needed for this position. This is an 84 hour/week position, and overtime is paid for all hours 40 in a week.

 

Housekeepers  Schedule varies per location: 4 weeks on 2 weeks off/3 weeks on 3 week off.

Maintains premises in clean and orderly condition through performing housekeeping and laundry-related duties.  Taking individual schedules of residents into account, cleans rooms, makes beds and takes out trash on a daily basis, dusts and vacuums as needed, and changes sheets as residents leave the facility or on a weekly basis for residents who are continuing their stay.   Cleans full bathrooms daily and keeps them stocked with towels and other supplies.  Vacuums hallways and performs other cleaning duties as needed.  Prior housekeeping and laundry experience in a hotel or industrial setting is required.  Good organizational skills, ability to follow a routine, good people skills, high standards of quality, and flexibility in responding to the needs of varying individuals and groups also are needed.  This is an 84 hour/week position, and overtime is paid for all hours over 40 in a week.

Note:  For those interested in working in Alaska, travel to remote camps are paid by Arctic Catering only from the point of hire in Anchorage or Fairbanks.  Any one residing outside of these commutable areas will be responsible for their own transportation to Anchorage or Fairbanks Alaska.

 

The point of hire for Colorado is from Grand Junction, Colorado.  If you wish to work in Colorado, transportation to remote camps will be provided from Grand Junction.   Any one residing outside of these commutable areas will be responsible for their own transportation to Grand Junction.
